Leaving to move (temporarily) to BC for work and I've said goodbye to many friends and partners I care for. And to my pollinator garden which is entering its 4th fall season. Spent some time watching the bees that live in my leaf litter pollinate and buzz around the flowering Goldenrod. 🍃🍁

Painted bunting! Heard a new call, checked Merlin and followed this guy through Lady Bird til I gave up, sat on a bench and he settled in front of me singing and sharing his Beaty 🪶🐦

Saw a painted bunting today at Lady Bird Johnson Wildlife Center. Also butterflies, some of TX's 2700 native wildflowers and great horned owlets in a nest.

Off a trail, this mavity (DW don't ask) defying shroom caught my eye. So gorgeous.

MOSS. Happy beautiful moss I haven't id'ed on iNaturalist yet at Point Pelee National Park - the southernmost tip of Canada and bird central. Growing in shaded Carolinian forest on a fallen tree. Also happy beach moss.
