This is what Windows is showing me this morning. I thought it was a Bayraktar flying over a sunflower field and the Carpathians to honor the anniversary of the war. I was blown away by the show of support! Then I clicked it and it tried to sell me on "spring travel ideas"... fuck

He collapsed while running the "Bridges of Vladivostok" marathon and died on the scene. We don't know whether there was any Ukrainian involvement in his sudden medical emergency, so for now he will remain as a Dishonorable Mention.

We are aware of the rumors that 🇷🇺 Colonel General Lapin, commander of the "Northern Guard" may have been killed in today's Storm Shadow strikes in Kursk. As far as we have seen there is no actual evidence to support this, but we're closely monitoring the situation. Fingers crossed!

Last year this graph was almost entirely Reddit and Twitter. Despite Bluesky getting TONS of new users recently, it remains a graveyard as far as actual link engagement goes. Threads is, by far, the best at getting content in front of those that are interested in it.

It is very interesting to watch the evolution of engagement across different social media. This graph shows visits to our site from social media sources this week. Total visits were about 70,000 (though the most are not here shown since they didn't come from SM).

Does anyone happen to recognize any of these 4 medals? (I know I've seen #1 before, but I can't find it now). We're having a hell of a time trying to ID them. They could be Russian or LPR medals (top right is the LPR Order of Service and Bravery, and bottom center is 🇷🇺 Valor).

He was part of the 3rd Guards Spetsnaz Brigade of the GRU (likely chief of staff or deputy commander), and had been fighting in Ukraine since the start of the war. He was reportedly on leave visiting his family for a few days before returning to the front lines.
