And one more piece of good news: the Isabel Allende Foundation, a long-standing champion of women and girls, will match all gifts made during the 16 Days of Activism—now through December 10.

Across the United States and Puerto Rico, we’re creating girl-centered spaces, trusted adult networks, strong peer circles, and practical life-skills training so girls can navigate instability—and lead through it.

In more fragile settings, it might be a quiet lesson behind a closed door or learning in a tent instead of herding animals.

As the 16 Days of Activism begin, we’re proud to launch Resilient Girls—TYTW’s new program strengthening the early protections girls need most.

Safety looks different depending on where a girl grows up.
In Puerto Rico, it might mean finally returning to a classroom after a storm.
Across the U.S., it can mean learning to protect herself in a digital world that rarely puts her first.

The need couldn’t be clearer: a UN Women survey of 428 organizations found that only 5% believe they can keep their programs running for the next two years under current funding cuts. Critical work to end violence against women and girls is at real risk.

Too Young to Wed stands with Zahra — and with all survivors who are leading, teaching, and speaking on their own terms. Support more women like her as they push for the futures they were denied.
November 21, 2025 at 4:11 PM
Married at 13 and a mother by 14, Zahra is now leading the fight to protect her daughters’ futures by supporting our covert education programs inside Afghanistan and speaking out for girls who still can’t.
November 21, 2025 at 4:11 PM
The day aims to eliminate all forms of child sexual exploitation and abuse and promote the dignity and rights of survivors, of which Zahra, a Too Young to Wed beneficiary, is one.
November 21, 2025 at 4:11 PM
The Special Rapporteur has posted Zahra’s video in honor of this week’s November 18 World Day for the Prevention of and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Violence.

Together, TYTW and CULP have set up three vocational centers where girls gain practical skills, health and hygiene education, and confidence to shape their own futures.

In many rural areas, girls still walk miles to school, study without books or light, and often leave the classroom too soon.

When girls learn, everything changes. Education delays child marriage, reduces poverty, and strengthens communities.

Through our in-school sensitization programs, Too Young to Wed creates safe spaces where students learn about self-esteem, reproductive health, human rights, and the power of education to end harmful practices.

She says, “When girls stay in school, it will change our community.”
Her words remind us that every lesson learned is an act of defiance,
and every educated girl, a revolution in motion.

This change is possible because people believe in girls like Ntusunywa — and act on that belief.
To our supporters: thank you for standing with them.
To everyone else: join us, and help build a future where every girl can learn, lead and help her community thrive.
