Last weekend I took part in the Chinchilla Fossil Finders event. Here’s a mandible of the diprotodontid Euryzygoma on display at the event, with a sticker that I was commissioned to illustrate. #FossilFriday

Last week I sent this pile of badges off to the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum. Lots of Aussie dinos, marine reptiles and Pleistocene megafauna in this mix.

The Western Australian Museum has a nice Gogo diorama. Here’s Griphognathus taking the coveted “dead thing getting scavenged” role.

An imperial AP-AT walker advancing at the battle of Como. Happy May the Fourth!
A sci-fi battle scene. In the centre is an AP-AT walker, a huge four-legged tank, with a cockpit on the end of a long boom neck. The AP-AT is escorted by fighter craft that launch from bays in the boom neck. Near its feet are a pair of smaller bipedal walkers. Brave rebel forces are trying to defend against the onslaught of the imperial walkers: crescent-shaped 3-LBT airspeeders, jedi cavalry mounted on bulky blue taeniodonts, and a scattering of infantry. All are dwarfed by the towering AP-ATs. A line of cliffs in the background has bands of colour created by layers of sedimentary rock of Jurassic age.

The giant walking kangaroo Procoptodon goliah just strode into the Toothy Grin online shop! This one was inspired by @dsrovinsky.bsky.social ’s valiant efforts to reconstruct these weirdo short-faced roos.

The arched back makes it look round! I had to draw it.

A sketch of the extinct short-faced kangaroo Simosthenurus restored instead as a dinosaur. It’s short neck, very long limbs, and relatively short tail all combine to make it look ridiculous. The sketch is based on a skeletal articulation by D S Rovinsky, but he would be justified in denying any connection.
