A low, wide angle photograph of my entry as seen through open French doors. A freshly painted ceiling can be seen along eith a bright overhead light. The walls are freshly painted off-white. The trim is freshly painted glossy white. On the left is a closet door, on the right the closed front door. Centered in the wall is a old leaded glass window. A plywood bench stained cherry takes up the width of the wall. The floor is oake red oak lvt. This is the first fully completed room since we started tearing the kitchen out in July. Did I mention it was freshly painted?

Countertops! Countertops! Countertops! We get water hooked back up in 5-6 days!
A white kitchen in mid-remodel. There’s no backsplash, or actual flooring, a section of drywall still needs to be repaired and the cabinet trim is only 95% done but: by god there is now a countertop!

One more week and the cabinet install starts (assuming nothing needs to be sent back).
A stripped down kitchen: the ceiling has been patched and textured, the walls recovered with drywall and plywood. The layer of pergola and the second layer of linoleum fully removed. In the corner a couple of ladders are stacked and a shop vac is left in the center of the room. Please clap. This room won’t have water for another month…

Always the point where I start to wonder if we could have just lived with it…
The remains of a u-shaped kitchen. The base cabinets are cherry wood w/ a white countertop. The upper cabinets are missing exposing one wall that’s just 1/2 inch plywood with a shitty soffit built above it, another is covered in half destroyed lathe and plaster with strips of masonite screwed over the top of it. The last wall seems relatively intact. In short the photographic epitome of second thoughts…

Spent the morning adulting: recycling a portion of the concrete pavers and sidewalk we removed last fall. Had to stop (also adulting) because my back couldn’t do any more…
A white PVC gate & trellis on the side of a yellow house. A large evergreen shrub is crowding the trellis from the right. The ground under the trellis is covered in freshly recycled concrete pavers including to *fucking* heavy sections of sidewalk that have been relocated. All the stones are wet from having been sprayed clean.

My vacation is seeing oldest at uni but mostly surprise naps. I did manage a 2.5 mile walk with my defective hip and saw cherry blossoms today though.

I want to put something kind and nice out there today so here’s a photo of Mr. Bun who really likes going for walks in his backpack with my cousin.
