The EU keeps buying Russian fossil fuel

It depends whether it was already in the public domain, and how. I'm just tired of reading what weapons we're giving them and how many, especially BEFORE they actually arrive. The UK public fully support helping Ukraine. Too much detail is being shared. We need to talk less and just get on with it.
December 9, 2025 at 6:43 PM
It just re-enforces Russian propaganda that they are fighting NATO and the "why are we there?" Russian bots that we all see on social media. It serves no purpose for this to be shared in the public domain.

RIP but who benefits from sharing this information? Not the UK. Not Ukraine

December 8, 2025 at 8:01 PM
He has no point whatsoever. What you have suggested results in the UK and France being at war with Russia and escalating the conflict - the opposite of what should be done.

I think we all understand what is happening. It would be very kind to say that the US view in short term and focused on rewarding the US. But Europeans need to look to the future and not reward the aggressor rather than agree a bad deal now solely so that someone can get Nobel Peace Prize.

Yes, you do pay more for gas in the Netherlands than here in the UK. IN fact UK domestic gas prices are around the EU average, but electricity prices are much higher than EU average
December 7, 2025 at 10:39 PM
But it started in 2014, not 2022. Annexation of Crimea and Donbas areas. 196 Dutch citizens killed in MH17. But still they bought gas, made new pipelines and looked in the other direction....
December 7, 2025 at 9:14 PM
Everyone understood what was happening in 2014, though most closed their eyes because it was politically convenient. It didn't start in 2022.
December 7, 2025 at 9:05 PM
And then NATO appointed Mark Rutte as NATO Secretary General, who's government spent an average of 1.3% GDP on defence when he was PM rather than the agreed 2% agreed in 2014 and even after Russia killed 196 Dutch citizens on MH14 in 2014. 🤔

But Ireland has no aircraft capable of intercepting a drone or a rogue aircraft in its own airspace. It also lacks primary radar to detect aircraft in Irish controlled airspace who have switched off their transponders. Zelensky should not be taking these risks.

A man wearing heels
December 4, 2025 at 2:22 PM
Mr Rubio, you also can't end the war by only asking for concessions from Ukraine and not from the aggressor, Russia. Nor can you end the war by only looking at what has happened since 2022 and not since 2014.
December 3, 2025 at 10:57 AM
Yes, because going to Kyiv would indicate that they were genuinely trying to mediate
December 2, 2025 at 10:57 PM
In other words, they are not prepared to compromise which everyone knew beforehand except for the US negotiating team.

He's incapable of being firm with Moscow and saying "no". He's just acting as their messenger and not adding any value.

They never miss an opportunity to make money. Europe needs to invest in its own defence industries and produce as good or better quality at a cheaper price. And, yes, there's no reason why Europe cannot do this and every reason why it should
November 25, 2025 at 6:06 PM
And that easily checked by ummm, errrr....asking Ukraine how big its army is. I'll go with that !!!
