Disney movie? Nah, this is the classic Aesop fable! Fox is sweettalking the crow into dropping a cheese.

I was wondering about that.... until I realized that blank spaces would be the same color as blocks, and impossible to recognize.

I like to think that Spike totally knew, but played dumb just to keep the fun going.

I wonder how many kids will be inspired to become psychologists just from trying to understand the many, many things wrong with these two.

I love them!

The story of the first automatic telephone exchange is hilarious. Here's a great retelling from The Secret Life of Machines. It starts at the 14:14 mark.

Ah. Oh well. Still loving the art. I'm really digging the older lady's design. She has the looks of someone who would have been a sour, unpleasant person in a more cliche strip, but I love that she's played so kind and helpful here, and somehow that makes the design endearing.

I was wondering why a late 70s comic had such an old-timey design, so I looked up the artist. Whoa! He was the guy who did Wash Tubbs! I remember reading a compilation reprint of his strips and being floored by the intense action and unflinching grim and gritty tone.
