I always figured they were supposed to be Martian heat rays like War of the Worlds. The deflagrate rule means the target is violently burning up

Thanks, it was a really fun kit to get into actually, there's a lot you can change about it with not a lot of effort.

Agreed, I have no idea what's in this edition for established gamers. I get that the urge is to not give in to reflexive negativity but really why should players be happy that a company arbitrarily changed the game on them like this?

The lasrifle kit is legitimately baffling, the Veletaris kit's better if just because the joints are all chunkier. If you need Companions I used Necromunda parts but the gold standard is Krieg Veteran arm sets. Alternatively the Legion special weapons can be made to fit for rotor cannons etc.

Oh and it's a lot of posts but while I remember, do yourself a favour and unbox every lasrifle sprue you have and do all the arm pairs of a type at once so you only need to figure the fit out once, because they're absolutely bloody diabolical.

Also thir markings and colours were very open to change, the base colours are that standard grey but mine are a light sand and no one's yet complained. I also made up my own marking scheme to make telling tercios easier and no one's said a thing negative about it, not that I'd care if they did.

I posted on twitter too but the Solar Auxilia were like a quarter of the Imperial Army by the time of the Heresy, the idea they were in any way uniform is ludicrous, they were a template of how to form elite Imperial Army troops that was then tailored to local tastes and resources.

The War Bastards are a fun pack but humorously my first thought seeing it was 'hmm, could he be female?'

Stitches has a nice relaxed look that'll go well in a turret though, worst comes to worst I paint the pair up as a fun side project.

I don't suppose you have a restock schedule do you? I think I'm going to use Stitches, sawn off at the knees, as a tank commander to lead my Solar Auxilia army.

You've got some wonderful models and I hope more people learn about them.

They're my favourite army and I've painted a lot of them. They're a commitment to build because you need a lot of models but they're very fun and rewarding to play. They also look great on the tabletop.

Imperial Guard armoured company, I'm actually building a Solar Auxilia one at the moment so I'm living the dream.

Similarly, I've got that first Ravaged Star one. Kickstarters make it easy to buy a ton of models fast so 200+ dudes can be one purchase a year ago that just shows up one day and you're ambivalent about after the pledge closing to delivery delay let you cool off.

If it's incremental purchases then it's probably time to consider whether your hobby has become buying stuff and maybe cut down. if it's a single thing like a Kickstarter that didn't stick the landing then it's one of those things. I've got a ton of Ravaged Star sat around that I'm meh about.

This is technically not AdMech, it's for the Mechanicum in Horus Heresy and they have minimal crossover with the AdMech 40K range.
