Baked some bread bowls for Christmas dinner. I like Ken Forkish's Saturday White Bread for this. It's a simple straight dough recipe that is fairly easy to adjust for loaf size and results in a good structure for soupin' it up.

For those that do not, tell me about your holiday(s) and I am truely sorry about all the music.

Behind the tree, our stockings hang under a framed Peter Max piece. Our yellow window drapes are drawn to keep the cold out of our small apartment.

A photograph of the Hermes Rocket typewriter on tinsmith's bookshelf. The typewriter features seafoam green keys on a very light greenish-grey housing, and the Hermes brand badge. Not pictured; the lid, which has the former owner's name and telephone number scrawled on it in permanent marker. Former owner served in the US Army, had many typewriters from different eras in his footlocker, all functional, but it is not clear if he was in a clerical role during his service.
