I listened to all 9 Firefly audiobooks and read the Serenity novelization to cap it off. James Foster is a great narrator and voice mimicker, especially Mal. He sounds just like the Cap'n! I had a mighty fine time revisiting The 'Verse and was fond of all the Southern phrases in the books.

Yes these 2 scenes are very heartwarming for me from Man of Steel. Anyone who is adopted knows what this feeling is. And Martha Kent has much more characterization in Man of Steel than in Superman (2025) but I enjoy both films.

I get what you're saying but Superman kills Zod in a comic book storyline and also in the Superman 2 movie from 1980. I honestly feel it would be more true to the character for him to lock him in the Phantom Zone but it just seems so odd Man of Steel is the only instance that gets so much criticism.

The Lies of Locke Lamora was the Jan. book club pick. Everyone loved it but for me it was OK. Fun characters & great dialogue but I disliked the writing style & chapters alternating between 2 timelines. I rushed through the 2nd half to finish for book club. I did a reread, which I liked better.

My wife & I saw Nosferatu on New Year's Day. I loved the film. In a way it's 3 things: a remake of the Nosferatu movie, an adaptation of the Dracula book, and its own original film. Eggers really knows how to bring a sense of dread to the screen.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is my favorite book. I read it first in college, loved it, saw & loved the film. I've listened to the audiobook 5 times in the past 3 years. It was my final read of 2024. I got to spend time with my friend Charlie again. Thank you Charlie & thank you Stephen Chbosky ❤️

Between my Dracula Daily reading of Dracula & listen of Audible's version, I watched 3 Dracula movies.

Coppola's Dracula was my favorite. The aesthetic, acting & costumes were 👌 & Winona Ryder 😍

I watched both 1931 Dracula films. Lugosi's a better Dracula but the Spanish version is a better film

I listened to Re: Dracula, a podcast that uploaded episodes of letters in the book on their dates so you experience the story as it happens. Sound FX, a full cast & content warnings enhanced the book. After that I listened to Audible's Dracula straight thru, no FX but I preferred some voice actors.

Finished reading the Tom Strong Compendium. Moore plays with comic & pulp hero tropes. The Strong family mirrors the Fantastic Four. Plots range from pulp adventures to strange encounters out of golden age Superman. The flashbacks to old stories made Tom feel like a long published character. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
