A bit grumpy, nerd, lover of all things LFC, Springsteen and inappropriate humour! Charity Chair and Trustee. Political left leaner, pro EU, deep interest in politics and international development.
As you rightly say, that is absolutely chilling.

Sounds perfectly reasonable - got to maintain standards, and everybody has a breaking point!
April 3, 2025 at 8:42 PM
Oh the deprivation!!
April 3, 2025 at 8:37 PM
I think Neil needs to take a good long look at himself. He’s let you down, but also let himself down!!
April 3, 2025 at 8:21 PM
Well I wish you well in the fight and hope you get what’s right.
March 18, 2025 at 9:45 PM
Hope you’re doing ok after todays announcements re the welfare cuts.
March 18, 2025 at 7:40 PM
What on earth was going on there?!
March 18, 2025 at 6:17 PM
Can’t say I blame you - some of the nonsense on there is pretty outrageous. Enjoy the calmer waters where the sky is blue!
March 15, 2025 at 9:03 PM
Good for you. Have you left twitter for good, or just taking a break?
March 15, 2025 at 9:00 PM
How are you doing Julia - thought I would ask after your tough time at the “other place”!
March 15, 2025 at 8:53 PM
Stick with Bluesky Julia - it’s the way to go!

That is a phenomenal letter. I’m sure it was very difficult to write, but it really is breathtaking in its unambiguous dissection and take down of Mr Kennedy.
January 30, 2025 at 9:55 AM
It will indeed Neil - it will do very nicely. That could so easily have been a 4 point switch the other way today.
January 18, 2025 at 7:42 PM
I agree Gregor - they don’t seem to come at it from a left or right angle, more just outlining what we should expect of public servants and where (and why) he fell so far short.
January 17, 2025 at 8:44 PM
I get that!
January 17, 2025 at 8:20 PM
I agree he is awful - but it says something that I view Truss as even worse! How far have we sunk! Did you see “The Rise and Fall of Boris Johnson” Rachel? It was a 4 part documentary (Channel 4 I think). Really, really good, and gives lots of insight into why he is as he is. Worth a watch.

One of the all time greats in my opinion. I would say it’s never been more relevant than it is now. Although it’s a superb book, I have to say my favourite of Orwell’s books is Animal Farm.
January 12, 2025 at 1:04 PM
Ok then!
January 10, 2025 at 10:42 PM
I’m sure he would appreciate that - after all, what’s not to like in a lemon drizzle?!
January 8, 2025 at 11:38 PM
I agree wholeheartedly Chris. The debate in my mind is what would I feel if something like this did come to pass - something I was so fervently against. Would I support the team in the same way. I genuinely don’t know (and having supported Liverpool for 50 years that’s a big call)!
January 8, 2025 at 11:09 AM
I really worry about the US, and therefore the world, a great deal with this deluded fool in charge. Very scary times.
January 7, 2025 at 7:14 PM
Excellent point
January 6, 2025 at 9:17 PM
I guess it’s a double edged sword though Tom. Maybe more are giving to charity since there is a greater need for charity to fill gaps that the state perhaps used to fill? Eg some countries have lass charitable giving because there may be less need?
January 6, 2025 at 1:24 PM
Quite right - I think that was a very scary day for American democracy, and I have to say I’m not looking forward to the next 4 years!
January 5, 2025 at 7:40 PM
That will catch Utd by surprise!
