Christmas tree chandelier in the Main Conservatory. If they think it’s going keep cats away, I think they’re going to be mistaken. A stand of old leaf-bare trees decorated with big illuminated white snowflakes with blue light cast on the trees from the ground up. LG flatbed truck with large Christmas light bulbs in the back. Yesterday in Baltimore, I went to the Krampus Yule Mart (Dundalk), placed white and gold floral silks at my grandparent's resting place at New Cathedral Cemetery (it has been a few years since I honored my Italian & Irish forbears there) and picked up a few boxes of Rhebs Candies for holiday gifts.
Sample of items from the Krampus Yule Mart--a black and white t-shirt, a Krampus candle; a Krampus holiday greeting card, etc. My grandparents' (Virginia & Leo) resting place at the forbears (Philbin) plot at New Cathedral Cemetery in Baltimore. Field of green grass punctuated by old gray granite family headstones and individual markers, with occasional trees now nearly bare set against a wintry blue/gray cloudy sky. From an upstairs bedroom window at my house on a clear day, I can see across the Chesapeake Bay to the top of the hillside cemetery. Established in 1917, the Rhebs Candies storefront is a small building: covered in tan formstone, has red clay roofing, with bay windows and a door in white trim. This is where my family have purchased holiday chocolates for 4 generations.

Among other top priorities, her work encompasses: brain health and dementia prevention efforts; COVID’s impact on the brain; and sex and gender-based research about women’s vulnerability for dementia.

We're so lucky to have Dr. Abhay Moghekar with the Johns Hopkins Alzheimer's Disease Research Center as a presenter. He will speak to the process of getting new therapies from the research lab to people in the community who need them.
Abhay Moghekar, MD (Co-Presenter) Dr. Moghekar will discuss biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease, including recent advances in blood biomarkers. He will discuss the context of use and pathway to approval for community use. Dr. Moghekar’s biomarker research focuses on establishing standards of use and the discovery of new cerebrospinal fluid biomarkers for the earliest phases of dementia. He also sees patients and has helped develop blood biomarkers that should be available for routine clinical use in 2025.

Then and now. I want to revive the collar pop from my high school days. Some things change, some things remain the same; blue shirts are still my fave, as well as silver jewelry. But the curly hair on top of my head has now migrated down to my face as a beard.

Lovely day at the Maryland Renaissance Festival. Huzzah!
It's me. A middle aged stout bearish white guy with an auburn-turning-gray beard in glasses. I'm wearing a crown made from leather that looks like maple leaves turning orange, and there's a maple tree in the same colors in the background. Also wearing a silver torc necklace featuring a stag. Both items are from prior RennFest visits. A crowd gathers at the gates of the festival. This is Lilith, a personality in the Knightwings Birds of Prey show from one world raptor conservancy. She is a European Eagle Owl. Festival patrons who take Viking costumes seriously.
