In a digital world where storage space is basically unlimited, everything gets kept, nothing thrown away and the end result is nothing has any value because you can’t go through it all.

Johnny Morris/Tony Hart. I feel old.

are their initials “NG” by any chance? That would be a fun plot twist

The Rolling Stones have been doing dodgy cover versions of Satisfaction since at least 1969.

The last time I saw U2 live (2019?) they played Gloria from their second album. It sounded like a great cover version, played by a very different band who worked hard to make it sound like 80’s U2.

Yeah, I still go back to a couple of big examples; Led Zeppelin at the O2 £125 flat fee lottery for what was basically a priceless ticket and Prince’s O2 residency where he passed the savings of not shipping gear etc to the punters, again a flat price first come first served. There are ways.

Web browser advances killed both my first MacBook (2007) and my gen 1 iPad. Modern Internet basically stopped working on them.

I genuinely could be happy just watching the fan edit of Star Wars and never see any of the subsequent films or rereleases. The first film was a massive part of my childhood.

“I’ve got a bad feeling about this” or variant thereof. Tick. Next.

Looks like a scene from Breaking Bad, bar the traffic lights

I have a signed original Gene Loves Jezebel vinyl album from the 80's that I have possibly never listened to - this is looking like peak time to sell and retire, I feel

Do you ever go back to old songs and think, no can’t work out what I sang there or are they all in notebooks somewhere (or maybe just still in your head)?

I think “get” sums this up well

Maybe they are all Madonna. She was a bundle of energy that day

In the UK we don’t understand the US love of guns. But if you want them, have them, but you should have to work hard for them. Americans aren’t afraid of hard work, are they?

It’s full of language schools and has been for decades. I remember Bournemouth racists having a problem with that in the 80’s.
August 21, 2025 at 3:36 PM
I live next door in Poole. Bournemouth changed when they decided to make it a “party town” in the nineties, along with a load of poor or corrupt development deals over the years. Resolutely Tory throughout that period.

Work, integrate, pay tax, spend money. How is any of this bad? Nuts indeed

Can’t see anyone paying to see those waxworks

What I find weirder is that I have what I think is a pretty wide taste in music, including some quite out there noise from the 80's and 90's and yet a lot of current pop is unlistenable for me. Especially auto-tune. It's just music and sound, what's going on?

Get a pencil with an eraser on the end of it, push it in firmly and you should be able to wiggle the inner bit out. Clean up and pop it back in!
