I often do this as a mentor too, it is saving time and making work meetings more relaxed (well there are meetings that have to be in front of a screen or around a table for sure, but making connexions with human beings works well in front of a nice meal / coffee etc.
Wanting to connect with busy senior scientists, this #PhD student took a risk and invited them to lunch.
