Well, I quit. I screwed up so badly yesterday that I knew I wasn't going to make it through the training. My knees are hurting so badly from the terrible seats in the busses it's really hard to walk. I'm going to have to do something about this problem before I move on with something else. :(

finished up third day of driving. OMFG busses are no joke man, they're like big boxes on the road that no one pretends to see. I'm still anxious about testing and i'm really trying hard to get things right. This is so hard when it triggers my anxiety.

So starts week number two of training. Was able to drive in real world conditions today and did "exceptionally well" according to my instructors. Some minor habit breaking needs to be done but otherwise went well. The pre trip is a beast, with so many bullet points and you have to word them exactly!

I passed all the classroom portions of the new job so far. Don’t know what my score was but I wasn’t escorted out yet. On to the hands on portion of training and where i find out if im cut out for this job

first day at new job. I swear I never knew there were so many forms that have to be signed. I think I used up half the ink in my pen today. back to it tomorrow, hopefully something more interesting and productive.

I got a new job today... I'm happy and sad at the same time. It's a new career as a coach bus driver, never did this before so the unknown scares me. I'm really sad that I couldn't find another trucking job, the economy is just in turmoil so there's not much to be had in FL.

@georgetakei.bsky.social Just saw an episode of the Twilight Zone called The encounter. Was an interesting story. I wonder if the treatment that you recieved in the story was common in real situations after the war or if it was just embelished for the story. Great acting btw :)

another month has gone by and I feel miserable. I can't put my finger on exactly why, but a combo of being out of work and depression has me feeling like a bump on a log. It's a terrible feeling and I hate it so much. I have little to no enthusiasm to do anything. please help me

i've been applying to just about every job that I think i'm qualified for and none of them have bothered to call me back. A couple said they were going with other candidates, and the ones I called to follow up with all had BS excuses, like my truck is too old for them but I could lease a new truck..

I just found out that i'm blacklisted for rehire which is going to make my life a living hell for getting any kind of meaningful employment. I Dunno what i'm gonna do now. Money is nearly gone and i'm not finding any reliable prospects anywhere.

First step in cutbacks done. I cancelled my twitch subs and TBH I didn't realise how many I actually had. Anyone that got cancelled, PLEASE forgive me, it's not cause I don't like you it's strictly a cost saving measure.

well it's official.. i'm flat broke... I have ZERO left in my bank account. I've been looking for work and applying and not gotten a single call back. FL UI says i'm inelegible for benefits so no income now.

wow in my looking at trucking companies, most of them don't pay for miles empty, even under dispatch. If you have to travel some time to get a load that all on you. They are just paying flat rate for loaded miles and even those rates are not very good when you account for your costs. this sucks!

still no luck on the job front. I'm looking at so many different career paths where I Could fit but not having any luck yet. Even in trucking, there is a whole gambit of companies that will nickle and dime you to death just because you run under their flag. I really don't know what to do anymore.

Work decided not to renew my contract citing productivity issues which is really stupid when all i did was haul between two facilities. Sounds more like an excuse to thin the herd. Now what am I supposed to do

the week from hell continues... my truck wouldn't start when I got back out to it and the shop looked at it before they closed, said one of the terminals snapped off inside one of the batteries and is shorting out internally. I'll get the battery replaced tomorrow when they open and that'll fix it

I miss my brother he was a big inspiration and support for me and now hes gone. I feel like im mentally collapsing. Like nothing I do matters anymore. I can’t get past the feeling that im all alone in my world now. Hopefully this will pass in time but its a deep state of mind and im shot to hell.

last 24 hours have me mentally drained. Had an accident yesterday, the trailer got off track while blind side backing into a spot and hit the truck in the next spot over. I Woke up this morning with a voicemail on my phone, my older brother passed away last night. :( i'm really gonna miss him.

I have to say, theres so many people today who can't or won't debate with someone else because they're convinced they're right based on what social media says. EVERYONE is entitled to have their own opinion on things, but if you're called out on it you may be proved wrong. make EDUCATED decisions!
