Three new countries are joining the #BirdsSeenIn2025 challenge this week with Jordan, Liechtenstein and Lebanon!

That's a total of 156 countries/territories contributing in sharing our wonderful bird diversity around the world.

Interestingly, no changes in the top 10 of this week #BirdsSeenIn2025 challenge!

USA had their 700th species, closing in on Brazil. Participants now need 101 species or more to reach the select top 40 leaderboard!

And that's it: Brazil got first rank, by reaching also first the 700 species mark recorded this year in the #BirdsSeenIn2025 challenge !

Notable changes are few in the top 40 but Canada overtook Argentina for the rank 9.

Unexpected twitch this afternoon, when a Leach's storm-petrel was spotted on a way inland lake near home! This species has been reported in multiple places far from the ocean after the storm yesterday.

Had 15 minutes of observation before the bird vanished, quite lucky there!
