Never in doubt 😬

Last season at 1-0 in those types of games, we would panic (not a criticism of Klopp) but Slot has brought so much calm. Passed one of the toughest tests of the season.

Two goals in injury time… a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of Arsenal voices cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced

On such days are league titles won

5/5 Most of the ‘FSG OUT’ noise comes from people online with little real connection to the club or the city. They are spoilt, entitled glory hunters. Bill Shankly went 6 seasons without a trophy. Imagine them being around then. Want rid of FSG? Be careful what you wish for.

4/5 Contract saga with Trent, Salah and VVD is not ideal but it will be sorted one way or the other. Whether they stay or leave, the club will go on as it has always done. Liverpool are top of the PL and CL with one of the strongest squads in Europe. What’s not to like?…

3/5 They don’t spend as much on players as other clubs but they have spent enough to allow LFC to compete for top honours. The club balances its books and spends sustainably, ensuring decent wages for more than 1,000 employees. It is the ethical way to run a football club…

2/5 They have overseen the rebuilding of the main stand and the Anfield Road end and the stadium now has a 60,000-plus capacity for the first time in decades. They built a new training complex at Kirkby and converted Melwood into a facility for the women’s team…

Thread…

1/5 I first went to Anfield as a little kid in the 70s and think FSG are maybe the best owners Liverpool FC have ever had.

They took over a club that was close to administration and a points deduction and turned it back into the football powerhouse it had been in the 1980s…

Some LFC fans will be jittery about the three conceded but Spurs are always likely to score at home. For me, that is how football should be played. I’d take that any day over the dour, risk-averse grind favoured by Arteta at Arsenal

Liverpool threw Arsenal and City a bone and they wasted it. Can’t win the league with corners lads

This joyless Puritanism is one of the reasons I came away from the left. Just a relentless narrative of misery. These people wouldn’t laugh if they saw a chair walk.

Curtis Jones outstanding on his England debut, capped off with a great goal. And yet some will still doubt him, bizarrely many of whom are Liverpool fans
