Against genocide and genocide denial.
I have a short story in the fall issue of Copper Nickel based on a memory my father shared about strangers who came to his mountain village in Lebanon when he was a child and excavated something enormous from the dirt (though no one ever knew how they did it, or what it was).

Paul Thomas Anderson is a wonderful translator of Thomas Pynchon. One Battle After Another takes the spirit of Vineland's counterculture story--with its big ideas and general looniness--and places it thoroughly in our broken present. Brilliant, energetic, thoroughly timely film.

Paul Thomas Anderson is going full Pynchonverse…

I’ve probably searched “Ubik first edition” a handful of times over the last few years. Then I remember the price and move on

If I voted tomorrow, half the films would be different, but this is what it looks like today.

Started playing the Black Mirror game Thronglets out of curiosity. Was not expecting this very charming systems-based life sim with occasional ethical conundrums. Great job, Night School!

Believe it or not they’re painted spiders by an artist named Marlin Peterson.

Found this Abbie Hoffman quote in the opening pages of Matt Ruff’s Sewer, Gas & Electric. It’s as true today as it was in 1987.

Love Common Side Effects. Best animated show since Scavengers Reign, and it’s getting another season!

Big news! I've joined the team at CD PROJEKT RED Boston as a Senior Writer. I'll be working on the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077 (Project Orion) with an incredible team of devs.

Looking forward to creating in that world!

Last night’s unlikely conversation with Ted Chiang and Natasha Lyonne touched on everything from immortality and becoming a cyborg (but a cool one) to free will/determinism and the virtues of pop rocks.

How hard would it be to incept the idea in Elon's brain that he, like some modern day Dr Manhattan, is tired of this earth, these people, tired of being caught in the tangle of their lives, and that the only solution left is to leave for Mars.
