The AVP is a chicken vs egg device. You need something for developers, creatives, industries and yes even consumers to use. What if they waited 5 years and launched glasses or whatever with no ecosystem, apps etc.

Just look at the time it’s taken for pro level VR cameras to be developed

There is a pretty cool ecosystem around it for different industries, well past the consumer lens many people look at it through.

I use mine daily for work, Mac Virtual Display, and it’s an amazing TV/Movie screen.

Seeing more apps launching too.

The AR future is looking very cool IMO.

Neat, what stand out to you as being better vs whatever you are using at the cowork?

Hadn’t seen that monitor before.

More the downward stress from the weight on the arms.

The used market opens up an option for the M2 at $1500-$2000 USD. Brought me in as a happy user. So there are options out there.

Cool! What did he work on?

How much force is put on the AVP arms with this?

Been using my AVP as a monitor for a few weeks now. It’s been great. And when using it on planes, AirBnB/hotels without screen options etc - it’s a no brainer. I’ve done multi hour sessions with it.
Your write up is detailed, but would have been much better using an AVP and not a Quest.

There is an entire world of industrial, business, design use cases that don’t even touch consumer markets.
A podcast the other day said that filmsets use them to preview takes onset in theater sized views rather than having to wait till end of day etc to get to a screening room.

Hikes, snorkel, trapeeze, yoga etc. Cafes, beaches, voluteer with kohkoh pups. Does she drive a scooter?

How’s the rendering on the M5 over M2? Is the Annapro easy to take on and off the AVP for putting in travel cases?

But I too have never seen a set in the wild yet.

Wore my set on 3 flights after I got them a few weeks ago. 2 long, one short.
I’d venture to say that you need to sit in business class mostly to see a set.
But having flown with them, I’d never fly without them again. Especially in economy. Such a game changer of how the flights feel.

Currently seems fair... there might be a few deals in the short period of people getting M5 upgrades that might bring price down. Usually 1700-2200 has been a reasonable range the last few months depending on config, accessories etc. Swappa shows a list of recent sale prices, and eBay too.

Is there a podcast version?
