Trump recently gave control over the US Strategic Oil Reserve to a company called Strategic Storage Partners, which nobody knows anything about.

This is dangerous stuff and it’s all happening fast. He claimed he never heard of Project 2025. That was obviously a lie.

It paves the way for them to fast-track all of their culture war goals.

They openly want to privatize everything from the postal service to prisons. They want to privatize education. It’s already clear that they want to dictate curricula.

Instead of publicly run institutions that answer to our representatives in Congress, we will have privately run corporations that answer to Trump, and run by someone he just made very rich. It takes power away from Congress. It takes power away from us.
April 17, 2025 at 6:14 PM
Why do this? For one, it’s going to make the already very rich people Trump sells them off to significantly richer. Beyond that, it helps speed along the goal of centralizing power in the executive branch.

Crippling them first with mass firings and unconstitutional budget cuts is just part of the process. It helps explain why they are doing things so chaotically, and using a fast-swinging sledge hammer instead of conducting audits.

Maybe it’s time for you Republicans who think you’re such great patriots to defend the Constitution, instead of cheering as Trump rips it to shreds. Or do you just hate trans people more than you love your country?

Presidents are not kings. He can’t just write an executive order that we all have to paint our houses yellow, and then punish us when we don’t. We are supposed to be a free country.

Now he is seeking to cut funding that feeds the schoolchildren of Maine because they won’t comply with a rule he isn’t allowed to make. He doesn’t have the authority to cut the funding, either.
April 12, 2025 at 9:38 PM
What he’s doing in Maine is a prime example. Trump signed an executive order telling schools what to do. The president has no authority over what happens in schools.

When we break those laws, it’s not the president’s job to set the penalty. But Trump is now using another power that does not belong to him to enforce his executive orders: federal funding. That’s another one of Congress’ jobs that he is taking over.
April 12, 2025 at 9:37 PM
The Constitution divides power among three branches of government. Executive orders are not laws, but it’s clear he wants them treated as though they are. Only Congress can make laws.

Yes, Trump’s plan to make all goods more expensive is true genius, the product of the sharp mind of a titan of industry, and obviously not actually very dumb. Welcome to the golden age!

Basic necessities have been upgraded to luxuries, friends. Rejoice! Think about it. A carton of eggs is now a status symbol. Own a car? Well, look at you. You must be doing something right.

$70,000 is a year’s salary for some of the federal workers Trump is firing

Using tax dollars on political advertisements is against the law in the United States, but the law doesn’t apply to Republicans.

Is America great again yet? No? Then let’s get back to defunding diabetes research.

If what Elon Musk is doing were legitimate, he would publish accurate records of his findings. Instead, he published an inaccurate “wall of receipts” to a website that got hacked on day one.

If what Elon Musk is doing was legitimate, conflicts of interest would be meticulously avoided. Instead, he is able to take control of the staffing and budget of government agencies that regulate and have open investigations against companies that he owns.
