What a shame, I’ve been enjoying this race and the comms as well. Hopefully it will continue tomorrow, some people eh!

There is something very weird and always makes me smile when Timothy Olyphant and Sir Adrian Dangerous are in the same scene together. Great show and T.Occulus is a star!

It was announced by Scott Young earlier this week that the Vuelta will have ads, and no ad free TNT stream and no multi screen either. TVE usually are live all day weekends but sounds like that has changed, the blurb did say 95 hours coverage and free to watch Quest highlights. Have a good one Rob.

Fantastic band, seen them quite a few times over the last 40 or so years and are still just as good live. Also had the pleasure of seeing Glenn Tilbrook live twice and they are still the best gigs I’ve been to. The first one in Walthamstow many years ago was amazing (apart from his trousers..😁)

Listen to the follow up with Jacapo on the excellent NSF

A great listen, and I hope the old TDF theme makes an appearance on ITV’s coverage this year.

In the UK back in the day when we had 2 free to air games a week on national TV, game one of the World Series was always Tux Night. Jonny & Josh on Mlb on five, brilliant days.

Nice to see Wilfred’s daughter.

Thanks for that @scottygb.bsky.social I did notice after the 2nd reboot the menu list was repeated twice which I’ve never seen before. Hope it’s all sorted out now.

And a superb album followed as well. World Without Walls by Martini Ranch featuring Kate Pierson of the B’52s is an absolute belter of a song. Ended up in HMV Oxford Street to buy that album in 88 ish.

I’ve been out all day but now caught up with Gent-Wevelgem. Adding to the comments, there is a reason @robhatch.bsky.social is commentator of the year, and that race showed why. Both the great war and the buffalo moments, just..superb. Nod to B.Smith too who after the NSF podcast, I like even more.

I know, even more annoying is TNT plugging their sports line up today saying ‘if you are watching overseas use either Max or Eurosport’. Almost as annoying as hearing that Max launching in Australia will not charge sports viewers extra for using their service.

Sounds like TNT will have Biathlon, after all J.T. Boe’s final race of his career in Oslo will be a must watch. But don’t forget Eurovision Sport has live coverage for free on their app with bespoke English comms, as they stopped using Eurosport’s one for a while now.
February 28, 2025 at 8:55 PM
Actually on the final live cycling broadcast from O Grand Camino, Rob Hatch did a great ending acknowledging and thanking viewers and talking about how Eurosport started his career. And he did it again when the streaming feed ended too.

From what I hear, ITV didn’t even bid for free to air rights from the EBU. The writing was on the wall last year when after 38 years it went in-house to ITV sport rather than the V2/Venners who’d done every TDF since ‘86. Eurosport’s highlights are awful, no storyline just the last 15 kms, sad times

Not for a few weeks yet, Channel Four haven’t announced an air date yet
February 10, 2025 at 8:28 AM
Yes, that might be the tricky part, the ChannelFour streaming site is free although you do have to create a profile, but with a VPN you should be able to see it. Although no date for the start has been announced, but I have a feeling it might replace the pottery throw down in a few weeks time.

Congrats on getting to the end of the Etoile Ned. Shoddy is not a word I’d use for the last 5 days podding, an excellent ad hoc piece of coverage there in more than difficult circumstances. Enjoyed listening and reading the emails. Chapeau sir.
