Welcome to my confusing page of kawaii art, depressing comics, and angels in greyscale. Blue sky should let us make profiles like it's Myspace js.
The Mac display: I found a totally fine thunderbolt display which is apparently a monitor that only connects to macbooks from a 4 year period.

The air tag: predator nightmare the way you would not know it was there without an iPhone. Wdym you didn't make it seeable on android????

The air pods: they took away your earphone jack to sell you these. They are no better quality than any other available option.

The watch: As stated above, the walled garden final boss. I bought a used one for a project but I literally can't use it :/ More later after I borrow a phone off someone ig.

The interface: is so dumbed down that it actually makes it more time consuming to use. Wdym every image ever is in one folder but also you exported drawings don't appear in photos until you share it to your own device? Wdym you can't simply remove photos off of it????

The iPad: The pencil is one of the worst tools I've had the displeasure to draw with but unfortunately tablet drawing is limited. I think the iPad physically disables people from making better art just from the way it is unfeeling to the concept of the human form.

The iPhone: hasn't had a good year since the 5 and I will stand by that. Increasingly falling behind and people have to imagine the cool things they could be doing to compete with something like the Z flip.

Apple does not have one product on the market that isn't done better than a competitor and is exclusively dominating due to the ways it locks people into one brand.

For tickets? Not that I'm aware of. However I doubt it would deter it because a lot of people ghost the convention since technically it's the hotel areas most people want to be in.

The bad future I see though is one where Katsu ironically looses attendees from needing to move venues due to overcrowding.

I'm certain there are a lot of reasons why it won't happen but 2017 opened my eyes to how it makes more sense to host this con in Spring because less people would stay inside and even possibly go into DC for the cherry blossoms, basically spreading out the space used.

I think it becoming the cosplayer con also just brought out a lot of hostile energy from "lack of resources". For me, it was mainly comfortably local but a lot of people made it their big trip (especially as it got extremely international) so there's the urgency to make it worth the expense.

But I remember 2018 giving me a panic attack from overcrowding. In earlier years it was just the atrium being overrun but that year you couldn't stop to look around before people behind you were stepping on you.

Like, when they were still reporting the crowd numbers, I think Katsucon was growing about 2-3k a year and having gone to it since 2013, 2017 was the last good year for me. That being said, I also did not go to 2020 and since because of how bad it was* personally* in 2019.

"Isn't this a bit hyperbolic?" Idk man, the owner of dreamcon was rude to his own guest, Meg the fucking Stallion. There's several instances in the last two or three years of Men having tantrums over their special better costume done with boy techniques losing to sewn costumes "which are inferior."

Feel like with the woman hating shit we saw at Dreamcon, it's just a matter of time before the finance guys start buying vip con tickets and showing up in expensive commissioned cosplays waiting for the crowd around them to suck their toes. And there will be terrible pushback.

Point being, feels like a lot of a certain subsect of new anime fans literally watched YouTube clips of Shonen and think they have taste with depth as shallow as a drop of sweat. Can't even form two brain cells to rub against each other to understand the shows they watch, cocomelon behavior.
September 12, 2025 at 3:27 AM
I don't hate the look, I hate the lack of depth they have. Genuine enjoyment of media feels lost to commodifying it for one's own personal brand. Shit, even same with the street wear brand oversaturation; they want to wear an experience like a costume without actually building the skill.

Every year or two, I update my hater portfolio and I have put heavy investments on the "Nonchalant anime bros". The kind of guy hiding his face with his fringe in the post covid street wear shirt, shein distressed baggy pants with chain combo trying to aura max being the xiaohongshu trio.
