Tom Wakely for Congress

Democratic Candidate for New Mexico's 2nd Congressional District. I’m an Economic Populist who supports Medicare for All, a Wealth Tax on Billionaires & who accepts that Israel is committing genocide. https://tomwakelyforcongress.com
I agree with what Murphy said but you have to ask why so many democratic members of the House don’t see it that way. If they did, they would gave voted YES on Rep. Al Greens resolution to impeach Trump, not voted NO.

I have been an advocate for universal healthcare since my days in seminary. I am enrolled in the VA healthcare system. No deductibles, co-pays or anything like that. It’s how the US healthcare system should be. The VA was great until Trump got a hold of it. Now he wants to privatize it. No Way.

Yep. Just used that quote at an Indivisible meeting last night.

Totally agree. Medicare for All. And that’s one of the main reasons I am running for Congress. The business plan health insurance companies use is simple: profits before patients. We need to vote out pro-business centrist democrats who oppose M4A. Until we do the nation will still suffer.

The incumbent Congressman I will be running against in this summer’s democratic primary voted for the $900 billion defense budget. And he will probably keep voting to increase the pentagon’s budget just like he has done over and over again @veteransforpeace.bsky.social

From the beginning of the Nazi regime, Hitler entrusted the SS first & foremost with the removal & eventual murder of so-called enemies of the state. The SS was staffed by men who perceived themselves as the “elite” of the Nazi future. Today’s equivalent of the SS is ICE.

Damn right, HELL NO!

I think it is important that everyone who has been involved with ICE, from those at the top to those at the bottom, be held accountable after Trump us impeached. But if history tells us anything, everyone who works with ICE will receive a blanket pardon from Trump before he leaves office.

Year after year after year, both Democrats and Republicans in Congress have voted to increase the military budget. And now those very same Democrats are crying foul. What did they expect would happen? We were fed lies about ‘weapons of mass destruction’ and now its ‘narco-terrorists.’ WTF!

Thanks brother. If you have any contacts in the 2nd Congressional District I would appreciate you reaching out to them and encourage them to sign our ballot access petition. Cheers!

How about all those Dems who didn’t bother to attend either of the two No Kings rallies this year.
December 29, 2025 at 1:28 AM
I am fighting for it as well. I’ve decided to challenge an incumbent pro-business centrist in next year’s democratic primary election. Why? Because he won’t support Medicare for All, among a host of other reasons as well.

You are in the right side of history!

A major part of the problem facing working women and men is that Congress is loaded with pro-business centrist democrats. Even if the Democrat regained power next year, history teaches us that nothing much will change.

It’s the only way, get those 30% to the polls.
December 27, 2025 at 1:12 AM
You bet we do brother!

Got a call from my VA doc last week to inform me that one of the prescriptions she has been writing for me will no longer be covered by the VA. She said over the last 6 months she has had to tell most of her patients the same. Seems we have enough money for weapons but not for meds for vets.
December 25, 2025 at 4:15 AM
The problem is too many pro-business centrist democrats in Congress who don’t seem to know you don’t take a knife to a gunfight.

I doubt it. Some diseases are simply incurable.

And Sanders is right. The only people who will benefit from them are those that own one. The rest of us will be saddled with high electric rates and water bills.

Medicare for All.
December 11, 2025 at 3:36 AM
Yep and that is why I support a wealth tax of 70% for the uber rich. It was 70% decades ago before President Reagan was able to get Congress to lower the rate to 28%. And 3 times since then the democrats controlled both the House, the Senate and the Presidency but did nothing to raise it back up.
