Morning & Afternoon around #ladywalknr & #middletonlakes No glossy ibis for me today. Hide A becoming the Rolls Royce of bird hides 😂 POSH!
Need to pop down after sunset and see what shows up in front of Hide A. Kingfisher put on a good show for me at Middleton.

Visited #ladywalknr Sunday, first time since late Spring, wanted to see how it was coping with lack of rain. Never seen the levels so low! Was quiet as expected, but nice to see at Bittern on the reserve, my first time here. Eventually left reserve and headed over Middleton direction.

Quick visit to #ladywalknr this morning, nice to see the glossy ibis showing well between Hide B and Bittern. Great views of Redshanks and Common Sandpiper right in front of Bittern Hide and two Little Ring Plovers showing. Heard Cuckoo briefly for the first time this year aswell.

A few hours this afternoon at #middletonlakes . Great to witness 3/4 Hobbies flying around fisher’s mill pool, first of the year for me, along with Common terns and a nice flyover from a Bittern again. Lots of Avocets across the wetlands compared to last few years. Hopefully successful broods.

Quiet afternoon walk around #ladywalknr. The smell of Hawthorne blossom on the walk to reserve was intense and great. 3 redshanks being chased off by lapwings, oystercatcher nesting on one of the islands maybe? Common Sandpiper on river edge. Didn’t see or hear a cuckoo though, shame!

Nice afternoon walk Saturday at #MiddletonLakes. Great to see avocets return, showing on different lakes, 14+ hopefully breed there again this year. Numerous red shanks, and was treated to a great flyover of a Bittern before landing and slowly disappearing into the reedbed. My first ever Bittern!

Peaceful early morning visit to Ladywalk, arriving just before sunrise for a taste of the Dawn Chorus. Lovely to watch a pair of Long-Tailed Tits working hard building a nest from Hide B.
6 Oystercatchers, 5 Shelduck, Egyptian Goose, 2 Crested grebes briefly Courtship dancing. #ladywalkNR #WMBC

A stunning Male Sparrow Hawk visited the garden. First time I’ve seen one in the garden. (Please excuse the background music) 😂 #sparrowhawk #birds
