After having worked with both Cloudformation and Terraform, I can see advantages within Terraform that you just don't have in Cloudformation, and I'm not even talking about it being cloud agnostic.

AWS, please please Cloudformation to be more robust. Terraform is kicking your butt.

Is there a tech sphere around here? How do we connect to folks of similar interests?

After having tried vue3, I find it so much more appealing then react.

In my opinion:

Angular > vue3 > react.

Angular still king. Just better structure. Vue has much better structure then react. React is just chaotic.

I have used Ai to help me generate code for examples. But never have I used pure generated Ai code certain and place it in production.

React is painful to use in a big project.

I'm seriously considering switching over to Vue3 for this.

I was using AI to get some code generated, it was actually after I complained it was not using SOLID and best practices that it actually generated some decent code.

So it IS possible for AI to generate code which follows best practices, but it won't do it by default.

You learn new things every day. Today I learned how to use the same module multiple times using the same state file in Terraform.

I would prefer using a development language while building infrastructure, but in this particular case, I have no choice.

Tried cursor code editor.

It feels so much like VSCode, which I'm really not a fan of.

Much prefer the user experience form Jetbrains.

So sick and tired of being forced to watch CPC Ads running non-stop on CBC gem.

And all they can talk about is the carbon tax. Weak.

Building a multiple page web application using React is a lesson in perservance and pain management. React was originally designed for a single web page. The bigger the application gets, the more chaotic the code becomes.

Highly recommend other technologies for multi-page web appllications

What is your goto IDE for development?

For me, can't find anything better then @jetbrains.com Intellij

Loving working with golang.

It does have some quirks though.

Do you believe people are generally lazy? Would you consider yourself not part of that group?

What is your favorite language to write automation in when working with the cloud?

For myself, my preferred language has been TypeScript for the past several years, although I'm finding myself getting more attached to GoLang recently.

Which AWS service do you find one of the must useful to use?

I'd personally go with Lambda. Serverless applications make such a difference in the cloud, removing pain from process with automation.

Which IAC service do you prefer to use when creating resources with AWS? Let's say you are focused on AWS.

Cloud Formation? Terraform? Pulumi?

AWS CDK and Terraform CDK also options.

What is your favorite thing about #photography ?

I would say mine is capturing moments in nature for nature photography.

And when doing model photography, working with body language and telling a story. I've injected humor in photography, just by working with body language.

Favorite game of this year for you so far?

For me I would say it is still baldur’s gate 3. Haven’t played it in months and nothing I have played since comes close imho.

Replaying Dragon Age 1,2 and 3 to figure out how I rate all the games in the series.

First spot, 1 and 3 are in close contestion. There are things that 1 has, that 3 doesn't have, and vice versa. Still, very close.

Those those in the #DevOps field, do you consider yourself more of a traditional DevOps individual, or more progressive? I consider DevOps folks with a developer mindset more progressive.

Starting to use golang more for building system tools then typescript.

Originally I was just going to take a break from twitter. However after reading their new terms of services, I decided to disactivate the account I have had for over a decade. Never going back.

One reason I left twitter was as due to too much political talk. Sounds like I didn’t escape it completely, my feed is starting to fill up once again with political discourse.
