It's not tone deafness. He wants what he wants when he wants it. The people are upset --GOOD. The people don't like him --GREAT. He looks around for whatever else will enrich himself, hurt the country, and piss off the people. Perfect trifecta.

I was under the impression that once Trump leaves office, the pending lawsuits against him will reactivate. Any challenge to him suing would bring discovery, which would nullify his case. He can not be handed this money.
