Hi Sue - nesta have no involvement in Kindred's survey, the report or press release. I had just wanted to point out that the statistic about toilet training is based on a poll of 1000 teachers, rather than an anecdote from 1 teacher as you had claimed. I can't speak to the methodological rigour here

Another stat finds that 24% of parents don't think a child needs to be toilet trained when they arrive in Reception, which broadly supports the other stat that 25% of kids aren't toilet trained. What definition of toilet trained is being used I don't know.

In the full report the methodology is explained. They surveyed 1000 reception class teachers and asked them what percentage of their class exhibited a range of behaviours. The average response to "not toilet trained" was 25% kindredsquared.org.uk/school-readi...
