Something pleasant to focus on for your sanity.

Little bear sat in a tub full of bubbles,
Scrubbing and soaking away all his troubles,
All at once with a toot,
He ruffled his snoot,
Now we know why there’s bubbles on bubbles.

Happy bubble bath day. Maybe not such a bad idea.

From the Workshop of Horrors ( I haven't cleaned it in some time), the annual Halloween Model Project is ready to race.

Godzilla's Go Kart was originally released in 1966, making it older than most of us, but this is a recent repop. You can almost hear the sputter of the under powered motor.

Pail, shovel, ice cream… and the best day of summer — all thanks to friends.

Reason Number 547 as to why women find me irresistible: I build scale models.

I just finished, the original 1977 edition of the C3PO kit as he appeared on Tatooine.

The pose not the usual worried curiosity but what he'd look like if you surprised him coming out of the

Hope you like.

Mid-mod pad. Clever apron. Ketchup flying. Kitten waiting for the goods.

This one’s a nod to favorite things-summer sun, pool vibes, architecture dreams and culinary cats.

Print’s in the shop if you’re craving a little summer nostalgia.

(Still no idea how he got that ketchup arc so perfect.)

Used to dream about having a treehouse — secret club, a quiet spot to read and listen to the rain.

Closest I got? A 2x4 roped between the limbs of a mimosa tree in front of our building in Brooklyn and weird looks from the neighbors.

Some folks want Corvettes. I still want a real treehouse.

Currently, where I am in NYC, it’s an all-too-early 82 degrees.

Suddenly it’s Iced Coffee Season where you pay more for adding frozen water to your latte.

It started as a quiet afternoon in the meadow. But then Ollie found the wagon.

It was one of those small, perfect springtime afterschool moments that live forever in memory: a blur of joy and a kiss of sunshine.

There’s a kind of magic in days like that. And sometimes, it shows up in red wagons.

One of my wish list daydreams: finding myself in a quaint European seaside town in the spring, tooling around on a vintage Vespa.

Since I’m in a midcentury modern mood, this is the image that came to life.

It’s a little romantic, a little nostalgic, and little vintage cool. Zoom.

I did manage to write three new scenes for a story I’m working on between sips of alka seltzer. This counts as today’s win.

One of my artistic outlets is a picture book series featuring this little guy. Ollie is a five-legged spider who lives for mischief and adventure.

He makes up these silly holidays for you to forget about the world outside.

I hope you join us in donning your cape everywhere today.

I saw this during a meditation. I was deep under, enjoying the nothingness when this materialized.

My meditation teacher said that in 40 years of meditation, he’d never had a vision before. I could tell by his expression he was a little annoyed at that.

For anyone with even a remote interest in the David Lynch and creative process I highly recommend the documentary, David Lynch: The Art Life. It had me from minute one.

Also, as a second post, here’s the obligatory, “I’m owned by a cat” image. Anyone else?
