More than 40 drones and 3 missiles have struck the cities. There is destruction in several areas, the suburbs are on fire.

Not sure what the metaphor is, but...
We have a plum tree that gives us delicious golden fruit. A few years ago when we had some heavy, wet snow, the trunk partially split and we had 3 meter long horizontal section hanging on.
This year, that horizontal section is rich with blossoms.

This is on the USA embassy in LV's FB page where they are promoting education travel to the USA via the Baltic American Freedom Foundation. Usually very positive comments. I know a number of people and orgs that have benefitted. A very sad time.

It has been a long time in process.
Prices haven't surged. I am a bit obsessed with our LV electricity prices (we have dynamic pricing) and I haven't seen anything unusual. It HAS BEEN COLD so, yep, spot prices went up.
