lifting NICs on high earners is one of the most efficient ways to raise UK tax revenue without touching the majority of people

Yeah. Sounds more real than news-thumpy. I can believe it.

Genuniely don't know if this is a real quote or just a joke. Neither would surpise me.

Consolidation, not collapse. Same thing happened in the early US auto boom, UKs motorcycle market, smartphones, solar panels…rapid growth -> overcrowding -> shakeout. Reality is China produces EVs cheaper, faster, and at higher quality than the West which is why the US/EU are scrambling with tariffs

"Trump has written"....

Definately not. Where are all the shouty capital letters and misspellings?

So why is it that major unions refuse to organise seasonal farm workers? 👇

What sort of training do you think they get? These places pay people under a tenner and keep them on skeleton crews. They arne't 5 star chefs with silver service floor staff backing them up.

Errr, yeah. I mean, £35K should be somewhere around living wage these days.

Wait, who let the geese into the brewery again? Last time they made off with all the gold taps.

emissions trends are independently verified through multiple internationally monitored and scientifically peer-reviewed datasets (NASA, ESA, GOSAT etc). Energy and emissions data are hard to fake - the traces left in the atmosphere are measurable. So the truth is, there's no "probably" about it.

What difference would it make? McSweeney and Labour Together would still be in charge. Starmers their puppet. I'm sure Streeting would take the hand up him too.
November 11, 2025 at 9:13 PM
Labour's the most unpopular it's ever been in it's history. You don't think these conversations are happening?
November 11, 2025 at 9:11 PM
There's no "if" about it, is there? They're on track for their targets, to beat them even.
November 11, 2025 at 9:09 PM
I mean, they did doctor a clip. Pretty silly to do it, Trump pretty much did say what they made it seems like he said, but it was still doctored footage. Not sure where Trump gets the figure of a billion though.

They're not "teeming with bigots". 😂 Stop being so dramatic. And the Party is sill in what you might call the “pre-constitutional” stage...There's no ratified manifesto, a constitution or rulebook, or even a formal democratic process.
Not sure you quite get how starting a party from scratch works.
November 10, 2025 at 9:48 AM
As there's nothing offical yet in terms of policy or manifesto, yes, I suppose it's up for debate. Your Party is where Momentum was in '16/'17 and there are lessons from that I hope they learn. They need to codify trans inclusion as a founding principle, not just a tweet. I think they'll do that.
November 10, 2025 at 1:16 AM
Perfectly reasonable to critique her for the inconsistency, but it’s also fair to recognise the scale and complexity of building a new party. The test is whether the party learns from those cases or just shrugs them off.
November 10, 2025 at 1:07 AM
Hussain made the comments after he joined the party. I can't find any source about things said prior to that. I'm sure it's not as simple as just getting rid of him, as much as I think he should be. Sultanas been absolute in her support for transpeople.
November 10, 2025 at 12:20 AM
I don't think their position is up in the air at all. Both Zarah and Corbyn have been very vocal about trans rights. There's literally nothing official in terms of policy in Your Party yet.
November 10, 2025 at 12:04 AM
I don't think she's saying that. Transrights aren't up for debate in "Your Party". She's just saying members of "Your Party" are fighting for trans liberation.

finance secretary?
November 9, 2025 at 11:09 PM
We’re actually agreeing then 👍
Yes, capital and current spending are different categories, and yes, for a currency-issuing government that distinction doesn’t determine what’s affordable, it just informs the macro choices.
That was all I was saying.
November 9, 2025 at 11:56 AM
Not mansplaining, just disagreeing. "Recurring vs one-off" is an accounting distinction, not an affordability limit for a currency-issuing government.
