5,161万細胞からなる世界初の3D全脳単一ニューロンアトラスを構築し、全神経細胞の微小環境を解析しました。その結果、健常老化やアルツハイマー病において保護が手薄な「ミクログリアのセキュリティホール」が存在し、神経細胞の脆弱性を加速する可能性が示唆されました。つまり、ミクログリアの増殖ではなく喪失が神経脱落の先行マーカーになる可能性があります。

We built a 3D whole-brain neuron atlas (51.61M). 3D cellomics reveals “microglial security holes” in aging/AD, accelerating neuronal vulnerability. Microglial loss, not proliferation, may be an early sign of neuronal loss.
