apparently this is fine lol I told them about it and they went "oh yeah that's normal, mucous membranes are dried up because of the flu" lol like aight you're the boss

"its build supports efficient light transmission"

OH YOU MEAN THE THING THAT ALL LENSES DO?!

"it is compatible with several models of cameras"

NO IT'S NOT. you can pick which mount you put on it when you order it online, that doesn't just magically make a nikon F lens work on a canon EF body
November 20, 2025 at 1:46 PM
you get what you pay for. for 5€ it's fine I guess. so much chromatic aberration lol
November 20, 2025 at 12:16 PM
turns out finland's postal services' parcel tracking is hosted on CF. this means that since their whole system relies on that tracking info to tell you when the parcel is ready for pick up (they only send a paper note if it's from abroad) nobody can pick up their parcels lmao

helikopter helikopter!!!
November 18, 2025 at 4:46 PM
I fucking knew it lmfao thanks deceptive marketing

I get 3.50€ from the same shop even without the premium subscription, it's just that the subscription has gracefully provided me with the ability to get free shipping if I order more than 30€
November 18, 2025 at 12:46 PM
ehhhhh? so if I'm reading this correctly, I'd have to get 30€ worth of groceries every time in order to get free delivery and even if I decide to cancel the subscription within two weeks I still have to pay for it?
November 18, 2025 at 12:35 PM
just seen this absolute gem on an aliexpress listing for an f/0.95 lens
November 18, 2025 at 3:24 AM
why do you need to point this out and why did 7800 people like this

this is what literally everybody should do when learning something. you know, actually try to LEARN something

the entirety of the original Finnish Digimon dub by Agapio Racing Team

yes, this is an OFFICIAL DUB and it's ingrained in the minds of many Finnish youth around my age
November 16, 2025 at 3:20 PM
>sir?

<yes what is it johnson?

>should we use pogo pins and contact pads on the lens extenders to make mounting easier? these straight metal rods could damage cameras

<i see. how much would this redesign cost?

>about 0.0000034 cents

<I'll hang you from your balls for even suggesting this
November 15, 2025 at 10:39 AM
it may not be a massive amount of hours but I feel called out LMAO
November 15, 2025 at 5:44 AM
god i love extension tubes. no microscope? no problem!
November 15, 2025 at 5:29 AM

November 14, 2025 at 6:47 PM
finally. no more having to fiddle with awkward weak setups to keep stuff in place while trying to solder
November 14, 2025 at 2:15 PM
by Jove! I've indubitably got something here!

30s exposure, no lens, ISO 6400 all of them

pictures 1, 2, and 3 are controls - these are just normal long exposures of the room I was in. the fourth one is the one with the Americium

(the red channel was too noisy so I had to disable it)
November 13, 2025 at 3:15 PM
interestingly, it doesn't seem like the radioactivity from the americium has any effect on the image sensor. the americium is supposed to be blasting out beta- and (trace amounts of) gamma rays which I can confirm with my dosimeter. maybe the sensor needs to be more sensitive, this was at ISO 100
November 13, 2025 at 1:54 PM
I did another photo with the exact same settings, and I think there is exactly ONE red pixel that is stuck, the others are just noise that the exposure adjustment didn't cut out
November 13, 2025 at 12:59 PM
technically, this is a photograph

30 second exposure, f/0, ISO 100. no lens attached and a cover has been placed on the mounting flange to block all light lol

interestingly, where are all the green pixels?
November 13, 2025 at 12:53 PM
now we wait for their response if they'd like to buy the rights. I contacted their parent company's media section to ask if they would be interested, and they asked me to give them my contact details and to contact the person running this specific store directly. fingers crossed!
November 13, 2025 at 9:55 AM
oh damn check it out I managed to get the exact same angle in these two images after moving across the street lol
November 13, 2025 at 9:06 AM
shout out this dude lol
November 13, 2025 at 8:59 AM
this is a shot I rejected due to the lens having water on it, but I wanted to tell you about it:

this was taken from across the street, and a van was pulling up to a red light. they noticed that I was taking a picture and stopped before the red light so as not to obstruct my view :)
