But when they scoop up pretty much every premiere player with absolutely zero limits, they prevent the other teams from getting better to close the gap. The Dodgers will be moderately better with Tucker. Their opponents got few chances to improve

Every other owner is a billionaire. The Dodgers are owned by a group of billionaires, and their drunken sailor spending is gonna screw over the other big market teams when the CBA rolls around, and the other cheaper owners (didn’t say poorer) force through insane counter-measures

If they just scoop up every best player every off-season with absolutely zero limits, the competitive balance is skewed to the point of ridiculousness.
Ftr, Pirates, Rockies, and As are ALSO bad for baseball, but the lockout next year will be mostly the fault of the Dodgers abusing the system

To be fair, all of us knew the writing has been on the wall for McNeil to get out of here, and we’ve mostly been ok with it. I think it’s time for him.
