Rest in peace, Mr. President.

My heart goes out to the Carter Family and I hope others take the opportunity to read some of his writings, and learn more about him as a person. And understand that his presidency was a service to this Country, not unto hisself and a launching point to his greater endeavors.

I have been drawn to his writings, more than any other President, because they seem written for the benefit of the reader - not the ego of the writer.

President Carter's skill of being impartial in order to resolve conflicts is a lesson I will carry forever. Grace and decency serves as a benchmark for leadership qualities.

around the world who are suffering, living in sickness and despair, and wondering if there will be food today. Reading Talking Peace was a wake-up call for me. The mediation skills learned from such an unselfish and conscientious man remain useful to me some 30 years after I initially read it.
