This constantly gets brought up in response to AI criticism. No one objects to these applications. They object to the consumer facing dreck that's being marketed to us as groundbreaking and forced onto our devices.
In Phase I medicine trials, AI-discovered molecules are more successful than historic industry averages. In software it can be very useful writing functions, creating unit tests and in general freeing up coders to focus on the more interesting work. There is a baby in that bath water.
