Now more than ever, we need leaders in office who are ready to fight, not fold. That's why I'm running— and I promise to fight like hell. (3/3)

This pinky promise deal with Republicans blows up any remaining trust Democratic voters had in their party leadership— and is an insult to those who made sacrifices on the frontlines of this fight. (2/3)

That's why today I'm joining with leaders like Senator Angus King to call for a pause on all U.S. aid to Israel until there is demonstrable change in Israeli policy that ends the horrific human suffering in Gaza.
Independent Senator Calls for Ending Aid to Israel as It Starves Kids
Angus King says it’s time to end all aid to Israel’s “indefensible” horrors.

Altogether, this raises an important question for every American to consider: How much more are we willing to cosign?

I believe the alliance between the U.S. & Israel is an indispensable one-- but not one that allows for the blind support its political leaders' wrongdoings.

And some even more troubling news out of Israel just today:

Two top Israeli human rights watch groups have determined Netanyahu's policies in Gaza meet their organizations' definitions of genocide.

A pair of leading Israeli human rights groups has accused Israel of “committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza,” becoming the first such organizations to make the claim.

What's more concerning is Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's ability to stand on the world stage and seemingly lie to humanity about what we are all witnessing:

"There is no starvation in Gaza."
Israel's leader claims no one in Gaza is starving. Data and witnesses disagree
Here’s what we know as the World Health Organization says 63 of the 74 malnutrition-related deaths in Gaza this year have occurred this month. Those included 24 children under the age of 5.

Recent reporting from Reuters found that there was actually no evidence of Hamas seizing or redirecting international humanitarian aid within Gaza, the stated reason for the blockades Israel began in March.
Exclusive: USAID analysis found no evidence of massive Hamas theft of Gaza aid
The internal U.S. government analysis challenges the main rationale that Israel and the U.S. give for backing a new armed private aid operation.

So far, 88 children have been confirmed to have died of starvation in Gaza in July.

There is simply no moral or military justification for that statistic (which is surely underreported).
Dozens of kids and adults in Gaza have starved to death in July as hunger surges
Health workers and aid groups fear hunger that has been building in Gaza for months under Israel's blockade is now reaching a tipping point into accelerating death.

Brazil supplies the U.S. with:

- 67% of the orange juice we drink
- 35% of the coffee beans we roast
- 12% of the cane sugar we put in our lil’ treats

Prices will go up across the board at places like diners, coffee shops, and bakeries.
