Writer based in Alabama. Mostly fact, sometimes fiction.
It's F. Scott Fitzgerald's birthday. Reading Gatsby in high school was a serious "fall in love with literature" moment for me, and I've gotten something fresh out of it any time I go back to it. Earlier, I visited the Seelbach Hotel in Louisville, which inspired bits of the book.

Zeke’s Restaurant in Orange Beach, AL has undergone an extensive rebuild since Hurricane Sally. Fresh catch from the Gulf of Mexico, a well-stocked bourbon selection, and a hook & cook program that makes the most of your charter fishing day.
Read my feature on Zeke's in the new Alabama Magazine.

This gig was 10 years ago this month. We don't play as much as we used to, but I'm grateful for friends who love to make music together.

Happy Absinthe Day!
This marble feature can be found at the Old Absinthe House in New Orleans. Those faucets dripped water to dilute strong absinthe the old-fashioned way. While the
taps no longer function, absinthe is readily available in the U.S. after a 95-year ban.
Hallucinogen free.

Exploring caves, scuba diving into the depths of flooded quarries, or rappelling from soaring heights. Thrill seekers can embark into the wild with True Adventure Sports in the Little River Canyon area. Find my story on the outdoorsy organization in the new issue of Alabama Magazine.

Fixer-upper. Lots of natural light!
It's not exactly a staircase in the woods, but it's another example of what happens when a house is left to crumble. Sturdy structures like chimneys and stairs remain.

Do cursed books hold greater value? Does it matter if it's traditionally cursed or self-cursed?

We've all seen things we regret, often because we went looking where we know we shouldn't.
Earlier this year, @horrortree.bsky.social published my horror story "Don't Look At Me" in serial format.
The whole thing is online now, and you can read it here:
