Yes, but those who now have regrets are the key to bringing it down. The most powerful influence in getting anyone to leave a cult is for them to see others leave. Not anything WE say- just the example of one of their own. It's in our best interests to allow them an exit strategy, & not berate them.

We want them to be sorry.To apologize.To make amends.But that is unrealistic-right now we need them OUT of that cult. What can make it implode from within is for people to leave - they're the ones other cult members will follow. Not us. Leaving them alone is a better strategy than vengeance.

A few clips. Yes, they're awful. They've destroyed our families. But the solution isn't to berate them. They're fully indoctrinated cult members & that's VERY difficult to leave. They're addicts. An addict trying to get into Recovery cannot do it if they face screams of "I told you so!"

Yes, you're right. I'm not suggesting trusting, forgiving, or inviting them to dinner. But we need them to turn their backs on that cult. WE need that. Who said anything about trusting them? I don't understand why anyone interprets my message that way. I will never trust them. But humiliating/shaming them, just to be RIGHT, only sends them back into their cult. The diplomatic approach works much better. Because what are we trying to achieve?
