I mean this in the least "rise up proletariat!" way, but it really makes you think about what things were like prior to the declaration of independence.

"Hey, hey Woody Guthrie, I wrote you a song
'Bout a funny ol' world that's a-comin' along
Seems sick and it's hungry, it's tired and it's torn
It looks like it's a-dyin' and it's hardly been born"

Why is it that you can't submit evidence received illegally, for example by torture, but you can charge an individual captured illegally?

Sorry, that was supposed to be "appropriate for 'use on' kids aged 13+". 'Use on'. Our bad, we've corrected the statement.

I don't understand the claim that the lead time is controlled by a bottleneck if we're saying for the sake of argument that it is a linear process. In a linear process every process blocks the next. One process might be the slowest, but every process being sped up speeds up the whole.

Algorithms or no algorithms were not the question as they are not “moderation”.

Is there a sharp difference in your mind between "what the platform allows/removes" and "what the platform promotes/suppresses"?
December 13, 2025 at 2:52 PM
Either platforms are just hosting content with no editorial involvement and are protected by 230, or they are making editorial choices via algorithms and are protected by 1st amendment? So why was 230 required in the first place - just because algorithms weren't being used enough?

On the one hand, the guy is clearly wildly unqualified to be a journalist. On the other hand, I don't think anybody could be asked the questions Micah asked him and not be combative in response. So it felt like the inevitable result of the decision to bring him on and point out he's awful.

Would love to see your record a league. The main thing holding premodern back has been all the videos being paper over webcams.

Looked it up more closely. Its 20 republican seats under 7% margin according to ballotopodeia in 2024.
December 3, 2025 at 9:37 AM
I don't know about 7 points, but there are only about 15 republican seats in the whole country which were closer than 5 in 2024. And a further 28 which were between 5 and 15 points

This isn't accurate. A contempt proceeding is the thing which happens when you violate court orders and the judge takes it seriously. There are not hundreds of examples of contempt proceedings. Contempt proceedings are the thing you are asking for - the "nothing ever happens"

They voted on the SPIRIT of the bill, ok? The idea of the bill is there. This is Plato's Bill

The east coast of the US runs basically perpendicular to a straight-line to Africa and with the way Maine sticks out it gets it by a nose.

Chalk another one up to Mercator projection messing with our heads
