Having binged their late 90s/ early albums yesterday, felt compelled to dig this one out - Tangerine Dream live in Newcastle 1981, recorded a few days before I saw them in Brum (my very first gig).

Not much to do on this dreary day but drink coffee & play some tunes, starting with this gem - Force Majeure, Tangerine Dream at their most tuneful & proggy. Like stepping into a warm bath. Gorgeous especially with the added solo tracks in the Hades box set.

#NP Vangelis Heaven & Hell, 50 years old this week by all accounts confirming my view that 1975 was possibly the greatest year ever for classic electronic music.

NP Jeanne D'Arc #TangerineDream, hard to believe this was 20 years old last month. One of their better post millennial releases, even the sax is bearable.

50 years old today! #NP the magnificent mellotron magic of Edgar Froese's Epsilon in Malaysian Pale. Nice mention for Birmingham (Streetly, my birthplace to be specific) home of the iconic instrument in the credits.

The problem with this box (apart from the fact that it's not ambient) is that you can never just play one album from it. #NP the wonderful Aqua by Edgar Froese.

Somehow missed the anniversary of this last month, so happy 50th to Timewind, one of the greatest electronic albums ever made, a cornerstone of the Berlin School & one of Klaus Schulze's masterpieces, perfectly complemented by Urs Amann's sublime artwork.
