Slovakia had a pro-EU government for a long time, and even Fico himself was pro-EU in his previous time as PM. He changed his rhetoric only in the last few years because when he was in the opposition the government was pro-EU so he had to become anti-EU.

Capitalism lacks a moral component, which it gets from a parallel philosophy (like humanism), while Communism is supposed to be the whole package. However, once Communism fails politically and economically, the moral component is lost too.
