As a buyer of the original Toto IV album, I totally agree (I like both)

"transfer portal" is just "free agency." That's been present in all other sports for awhile now.

What is chaotic is that, unlike other sports, there's no collective bargaining agreement, so it's just kind of helter-skelter until we get one.

Sorry! LOL I was going to add that, if that happened, I think Arizona St would have jumped past Alabama for the 11th seed, knocking Bama to 12th.

All things being what they were leading up to last night, Boise State would have gotten it. They had a pretty significant head start on Arizona St. Sun Devils played really well, beat a ranked team, but so did Boise. I think Boise would have the edge for the 4th seed.

If SMU had won, they would have gotten one of the byes and Boise the other one, probably.

We find out soon. Me, I'm as sure that Boise and ASU get 1st round byes as I am that Oregon and Georgia do. Now, I'm not sure who goes to the Fiesta Bowl and who to the Peach

Except Clemson would be seeded 12th. I know SMU is ranked 12th, but rules are rules. Hopefully, they'll get rid of these byes in a year or two.

I think college football really needs to go to a scheduling formula, something like what the NFL does. Allowing the major schools to schedule their own non-conference games will always lead to imbalance. So hopefully one day the big schools will cede that. Until then, we're stuck with it

Everyone unranked they played, yes.

Look, I'm happy for SMU, if they get in today, great! I'll enjoy the playoffs with or without 'em.

But don't try to compare the two schedules, because they're not comparable.

Who did SMU beat again?

And wins against Georgia, South Carolina, Missouri, LSU

TV has certainly assisted in the concentration of power in the sport. But that concentration of power has been going on for well over 100 years, even before TV. Sooner than later, we'll have another Division I sub-division, "FAS" maybe? Where all the really big boys go play.
