This sounds crazy, but if there's a top level SP out there who we could keep under control for min. two years, trading Holliday isn't crazy. This is where we're at, and teams need to extract real talent from us. At least we'd have alonso and ward and gunnar etc, and could figure something out at 2B.

That's also good. It would get at a scale of improvement vs. not, which might be better at assessing POTUS's effect. The Pew poll question seems to get at quality of economy right now regardless of the past or when in the past. I think that also works, tho not sure about the "only fair" word choice.

Probably written that way to more clearly distinguish good from fair. Just my guess. Some folks including older folks use fair as a kind of compliment or at least light praise (about food, weather, a woman, etc.).

Agreed. She also gave away a bunch of very relevant spoilers in her review of season 3 of The Diplomat (which only just aired), essentially killing the suspense on cliffhangers. Maybe she hasn't received the memo that many readers watch the actual show to find out what happened.

Does the court have authority to deny the MTD? If so, on what ground? The govt surely can't be required to continue prosecuting a given case that it has decided, rightly or wrongly, to stop pursuing.
