I’m surprised online supermarkets aren’t muscling in on the recipe box market.

They don’t need to box anything, just add a carrot, chicken, etc., and recipe card to my basket.

The spirit of Quibi is alive and well, as I have now watched the entirety of The Kings Speech over the course of 90 YouTube Shorts

The Grand Old Quantum Physicist of York, he had 1 x 10⁴ men.

When they were only halfway up they were in a superposition of both up and down at the same time.

I never understood the claims that shoplifting will cause price increases for us honest folk.

Shops set prices to that sweet spot where charging more would lower profits.

Shoplifting doesn’t change that sweet spot, so raising prices would just boost the losses.

Whatever my next project is, I’m using Instrument Serif

It’s a Google font that doesn’t feel like a Google font, if that makes sense.

I just got bitten by the side project bug and have like 5 ideas for completely different projects I want to all do right now

There needs to be a more dime-a-dozen approach to dressing well. I bet movie sets have 1000 stock outfits that would suit me better than anything I could assemble myself through days of shopping.

Spend £200 on fancy keyboard with fingerprint scanner vs just keep my laptop open on the desk when I’m on the monitor 🤔

There appears to be a “launching” phase before walking, where a baby constantly springs their legs and flings their head back into danger.

Everything this baby wants to do is dangerous.

Would it kill sock makers to make every sock in a pack identical?
February 22, 2025 at 11:18 AM
I can bear the baby waking up an hour early and entertaining himself on our bed while we doze

But currently his toys aren’t as interesting as climbing on us, poking our faces, sitting up then falling backwards, and kicking.

Voting for the Mayor Who Promised to Blow Up the City Doesn’t Mean I Approve of the Mayor Blowing Up the City
It’s so easy to label people these days. From the way folks have been talking, you’d think everyone falls into two buckets: those who voted against...

“Still waters run deep” winds me up.

If I make no effort to engage with people, I should work on it, not say “well actually that means I’m really clever”

If I have to listen to a song 10 times before I like it, does that make it deep or bad (and only enjoyed out of Stockholm Syndrome)?
January 28, 2025 at 1:08 PM
Sometimes I wonder about all the songs I’d love if I heard them one more time and all the songs I do love because I happened to hear them the required number of times.

I still haven't figured out a graceful way of populating a useForm with the results of a useQuery. Putting a reset in a useEffect gives me the ick.

The Bluesky source code looks very tidy and professional, but it also looks very boilerplatey.

I can’t help but think there could be some more abstractions, but maybe they’ve seen some truth I’m yet to see and I’m in the middle of a midwit bell curve.

I didn’t realise people actually liked TikTok.

I thought everyone was wary of the brainrot (especially for kids) and potential spying and only went on because of dopamine addiction.
