Only Facebook translating Ts'oanelo Lets'osa from Romanian(?) to English as he came on a substitute in tonight's game.

Finishing off the stash of sweets that we buy just in case we get kids visiting at Halloween. We need to talk about how treat size Haribo are tarnishing the brand.

I post this regularly on Armistice Day. This is the man who probably saved my father's life.

Yesterday, I made a long promised and much delayed trip to the Dundee V&A. A brilliant building. 21st century but with aspects of brutalism in its concrete shell. I hadn't realised that the fins are precast concrete and the exterior skin is cast insitu.

I took my first trip on an Ember electric intercity bus yesterday from Edinburgh to Dundee. I liked it. Fast-ish, comfortable seating, great WiFi, and very quiet.

Not nice, but objectively quite funny

The aftermath of last night's fireworks on the local football pitch. Tyre tracks and abandoned sandbags along with various other debris. It could have been worse I guess. I now have two bags of sand for the community garden.

I've just made some chilli jam with some homegrown chillis. It's always a lottery how hot it will be, but six chillis go a long way. This year's is a little bit on the hot side, but far from overpowering.

The Schwebebahn in Wuppertal is well worth the trip. We went there last year during the Euros. The town of Wuppertal is perhaps not so great.

Popped over to the BBC Sport Scotland website to see what they had to say about tonight's top of the table tier 2 game.

If the people of Edinburgh want a second tramline, moving lots of non car-owning people efficiently from Granton, (the pink bits on the map of multiple deprivation) through the green bit (the highest scoring possible on the index) to the city centre and beyond, then they have a decision to make. 1/1

You might like this newspaper photo from 1976 when the Subway was extensively modernised. St Enoch mainline and its hotel with its St Pancras style raised approach has been demolished for a car park, and the Subway station floats above a huge hole in which the modern station is now located.

Looks like a hazy pale. Fine carbonation (as promised), light smoke flavours, tiny hint of biscuit. Very nice.

These three people holding furled football scarves made an interesting image yesterday, as they approached the stadium. Almost as if they were carrying tools or weapons that were about to be deployed.

Scotrail Class 385 trains have an inbuilt introvert area. My favourite place to read a train book.

As an aside, I can recommend a close season trip from Anstruther to the Isle of May to see the puffins. After that, a chippy tea is even tastier.
