9/ The 20-month audit diverted resources from reporting and likely cost the taxpayer much more than the pocket change it generated.

To be honest, the process felt arbitrary at times, the communication and language used was impenetrable and it went on a year longer than I was told.

Following the newly-restricted legislative elections in 2021, Chief Exec. John Lee promised an "efficient" chamber.

During its four-year term, the "patriots-only" Legislative Council passed 130 bills into law and voted down only one bill (on gay rights). hongkongfp.com/2025/10/29/h...

The most rejections came from two lawmakers from the pro-business Liberal Party, Frankie Yick and Peter Shiu, who voted “no” 13 and 11 times, respectively. The pair were followed by Doreen Kong, who opposed government motions on seven occasions.
