Though of course that does increase his incentive for ensuring Republicans win at the mid-terms, and if you're willing to bypass the law and control most of Government you do open up some creative opportunities...

He just forgot to complete the sentence - "maximum transparency in the outfits worn by 15 year old girls"
November 18, 2025 at 4:39 PM
Whether or not the first sentence is true, it has very little to do with the second one... oil reserves are not known for their fickle international nomadic lifestyle

Surely people really want neither, instead wanting the last three movies to drop into a black hole, and some good movies to replace them (from my perspective featuring any actors of any colour or gender, but that bit is probably not universally shared)

Equally, be wary of anyone who talks a good game but only stays at each job a year or so! Some of what they say might be valid, but they won't have been sticking around long enough to really find out...

But if you're curating a set of rules that AIs in general should follow, eg on a repo where different people use different AIs, it's a PITA to have to maintain them across multiple files. You can maintain them in one and auto-export to each variant but it's still an extra step to forget

Web client every time, I've never installed it and rarely have a problem!
They do hide the 'use web client' option but it's there

For most of this I thought you were talking about Russia/Ukraine :(

Though also wild to think that while working in any kind of competitive market, adult humans with careers advocate for continuing to do things the slow way while competitors (and colleagues) just get on with stuff more efficiently, and expect to keep their jobs? Productivity increases are hardly new

Great Saturday line up though, wasn't it

ie. tax fairness is still a major thing, but you can't just assume it's the only problem driving everything, real world isn't like that
October 8, 2025 at 12:36 PM
Rich world has a shrinking working population + growing retiree population. Since the welfare state started life expectancies have risen massively, as has scope of healthcare - so each taxpayer has to support more pensioners, each living longer and costing more. Tax fairness isn't main story here.

Those leaves must be turning red from all the blood spraying around - scary stuff!

This'll be like how going to chapel several times a week, singing hymns and praying in school really set me on my current path and confirmed within me the values that have stuck with me throughout my life, as an atheist

See if you can interview the candidate - poacher turned gamekeeper maybe!
July 3, 2025 at 10:20 AM
I do find it very tiring
June 23, 2025 at 5:20 PM
Ah ok, you probably won't get that dynamic from the Culture books, sadly - most boil down to a human + robot inside a sentient ship doing something across the galaxy
June 18, 2025 at 12:47 PM
I'd say it's one of the weakest of the Culture novels, have a go with Excession, Use of Weapons or Surface Detail (but they're all very good)!
June 18, 2025 at 12:17 PM
Perhaps, at least until they arbitrarily cancelled them at short notice
June 14, 2025 at 1:03 PM
Oh well, we had a good run

I assume post-ChatGPT they laid it on thick about the AI to get more easy money, but back then it was clearly only as AI as an expert system
June 6, 2025 at 1:28 PM
I sat in on a design meeting between them and a client in maybe 2021-22 (when they'd already raised nearly half that money I think, pre-ChatGPT?) and it was clearly a templated dev system. I want a home screen, a search, a payment screen etc -> standard price, script scaffolds and dev finishes
