Developer & dog lover. I teach AdonisJS, a full-featured Node.js framework, at Adocasts where I publish weekly lessons. Professionally, I work with JavaScript, .NET, and SQL Server.
When I have Mondays off, I don’t know why, but I have to constantly remind myself all Sunday that the weekend isn’t almost over and that it isn’t a work night.

Its why I usually take off on Fridays 😅

The @firefoxdevtools.bsky.social JSON viewer got better in @firefoxnightly.bsky.social : the console offers access to the original json data via `$json`.
This allows to easily manipulate the underlying data to get what you want

Usually I record my screen using OBS and my camera direct onto a memory card, then sync & join it using a multicam during editing.

Tried something new, recording the camera beside the screen on a double-wide 16:9 and the recording experience was great (because I could actually pause), but...

Web Awesome 3.0.0-beta.6 has just been published to npm.

This version is safe to use, as it pins the affected dependency to the last safe version. You can update to 3.0.0-beta.6 by running the following command:

npm i @awesome.me/webawesome@3.0.0-beta.6
⚠️ SECURITY ALERT: An npm dependency used by Web Awesome was compromised a few hours ago.

This ONLY affects npm installs — CDN users are safe.

DO NOT install Web Awesome via npm right now. New unaffected version is publishing now…

The next version of the Adocasts site will highlight code blocks using Shiki on the fly! 👍

I've been using Adobe Express AI to quickly generate clips from lessons to share with the release announcements.

Sometimes it does great and sometimes it does... well this was the top recommendation for the lesson releasing tomorrow:

Added a new transcribe & translate feature to my transcoder app so I don't need to do these two steps as manual processes prior to uploading now. 👍

Just need to verify this matches the quality of my current workflow, then I can add the final upload to R2 step.

Just opened the pantry to grab lunch only to find I put the mozzarella cheese in there after cooking dinner last night 👍

No wonder I’m always losing things

be careful out there

this was effective against `eslint-plugin-prettier’
A phishing attack is going on against maintainers on @npmjs.bsky.social, be aware!

- email is spoofed from npmjs.org (which doesn’t use DMARC but redirects to npmjs.com)
- login link points to npnjs(dot)com (clear giveaway)

It took longer for me to cancel my Spectrum internet than it did for the ISP I switched to to do a full install (which included running fiber optic cable to & into the house).

😬

I’m not really sure that I can say I enjoy coding anymore. Certainly used to, but damn if it hasn’t just been a chore for me these past several months.

Hopefully it’s just a funk.

Google closed my storage account without warning or notice and the only reason I’ve been given thus far is that this was done because my payment profile is subject to a verification process.

I’ve been reliably paying my bill, including this past month since my account creation in 2022.

Received a preorder before its intended release date for once! 😁

I just started a different book though, so I don’t plan on touching this one for a bit. Still neat nonetheless
