Sleeping on the train is already anti social and unacceptable?

For what its worth, US GDP per capita is $81,000 while Spain's is $32,000

I don't think this is because our mechanics and teachers are *that* much better than their counterparts in Spain.

I think its clear that Americans with "bullshit" jobs are doing a better job though

One lb of chicken per serving seems extreme

Housing prices are out of control, no question. Legalizing apartments would be a neat idea

I also disagree that the ideal economy is one built to reward "dirtbags." I rather live in a country that rewards hard work and education!

Important to incorporate quality improvements.

I car that was shitty 20 years ago, would by today's standards, be even shittier.

You can probably buy a car without power windows and, by today's standards, incredibly subpar safety features for very little money

True! But its something and you can make your students do it as a homework assignment

With CPS you could try to identify those with an AA at the start of their sample who then finish their BA, and compare labor market outcomes to someone who simply completes a BA?

Small N though I am sure

Summer 2020 I thought it was cool having troops in Boston, hanging out in hummer's with assault rifles swung over their shoulder. I did not feel afraid that they would open fire. Having national guard around more generally would be an interesting experiment.

Research into ranking the alt-career pathways for different PhD programs would be interesting...

Been waiting for your take!

It’s definitely slow and bad but could be good. I have hopes but the pilot wasn’t exactly episode 1 of breaking bad

Shimmer is an enclave industry

Sympathy and empathy are not the same. I think if you have a graduate degree and work in the knowledge economy, its almost impossible to imagine being an undocumented Mexican who is excited for Trump to kick out the Nicaraguans with a firm belief that he will spare you.

The real "liberal bubble" is not associating with people who think like this on a daily basis. People surprised by this need to rethink how they vote in primaries
November 26, 2024 at 7:28 PM
Weren’t the biggest overperformers in the house moderate Dems?

I thought it was a joke at first. Like dean of the business ethics department at Trump university
