My evening plans for tonight 👇

I recommend this 👇 place wholeheartadely. It's away from Florence city centre, but it's 5 minutes on foot from the tram 2 stop on Piazza della Libertà or from the Parterre final stop of C1 bus you can catch in the city centre. Food & service are excellent. Bonus for (Fiorentina) soccer fans

Ok, Caffé Lietta, where negroni was invented, is a really nice place on Piazza della Libertà in Florence, but you have to be willing to experience Hitchcock's Birds LIVE

See @paulinakewes.bsky.social what I found earlier today just in front of the SMN Railway Station in Florence I didn't know he wrote it here

About to start in Palazzo Strozzi the debate hosted by Guglielmo Meardi at @sns.it with Małgorzata Zachara-Szymańska and Alexander Mesarovich from @eui-eu.bsky.social on the meaning and consequences of the last Polish and Romanian presidential elections

My plans for today's evening 👇

At work in Caffé Lietta on Piazza della Libertà in Florence. It's the place where they invented negroni (but that comes after work) CC: @kgattermann.bsky.social @madsdagnis.bsky.social

In 🇵🇱 consulate in Florence, Italy. "When you vote, you are exercising political authority, you're using force. And force, my friends, is violence. The supreme authority from which all other authorities are derived." (Bob Heinlein) God, have mercy on 🇵🇱, and I write it as an ardent militant atheist.

Florence, rn. The begining of Ponte Vecchio, from the other (than the city centre) side of Arno
May 31, 2025 at 9:15 PM
Ok, so I think I managed to find the most posh place in Oltrarno (the other side of Arno), which is a district considered the most hipster of all Florence. But I recommend the place for food, wine (what you see is Montepulciano), and the quality of service.

And this 👇 one also seems essential

My sabbatical update. Essential readings spotted at the bookshop next to Piazza Pitti in Florence, Italy

Enjoying my evening

My plans for the begining of this voting weekend (on Sunday there will be the 2nd round of presidential elections in 🇵🇱) 👇

Do I have a space in my stomach for dessert? I doubt it (hence amaro as un digestivo). But it won't stop me from eating this tiramisu, all consequences be damned! 😉
May 27, 2025 at 8:14 PM
It's not my first time here (Florence branch) but I recommend it wholeheartadely. The joint, the food (tonight: antipasto toscano), and the wine (vino rosso di casa)👇
May 27, 2025 at 7:33 PM
Chillout in the cafe on the terrace of an old orphanage for foundlings where the UNICEF Innocenti Research Center and Museo degli Innocenti are currently housed. The entrance to the cafe is independent from the one to the Centre. You use the museum entrance and use the lift (no tickets required).

The chillout phase of my sabbatical in Florence. I discovered this 👇 beautiful place (you have to become a member of the local club - so that's how the Northern Italy scores high on the membership in civic associations in Putnam! 😉) thanks to this 👇 book. Laern foreign languages!

Piazza Santo Spirito rn

Current mood: (near Piazza Santo Spirito in Oltrarno - on the other side of Arno in Florence, Italy) 👇

I'm a geriatric Millenial, my political philosophy is pure Heinlein:"When you vote, you are exercising political authority, you're using force. And force, my friends, is violence. The supreme authority from which all other authorities are derived" I just voted in Florence in 🇵🇱 presidential elections
